Expanding its long-standing commitment towards Sri Lanka’s education sector, the global cloud enterprise software company IFS has entered a unique partnership with the University of Moratuwa to give students improved learning access to modern and world-class ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems.
The initiative collaborates with IFS partner SEBSA, who were instrumental in introducing IFS Cloud to the University and who will implement the application and provide students with hosting and support capabilities while contributing to university curricula and lectures. The signing of the MOU took place recently at IFS Colombo office and consecutively at the University of Moratuwa. It featured the participation of Stephen Keys, Chief Talent & Sustainability Officer of IFS, and representatives from the University of Moratuwa headed by the Vice Chancellor Prof. N.D Gunwardena as well as Muthuraja Nanayakkara, Chief Executive Officer of SEBSA and further representatives.
Since the inception of IFS Sri Lanka 25 years ago, IFS has focused on collaborating with the nation’s leading universities as a part of its broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. By partnering with the University of Moratuwa, IFS is pursuing its goal of having a broader impact across Sri Lanka’s ICT sector and the local society, reiterating its commitment to transforming the future ICT.
“We are delighted to partner with the University of Moratuwa in our quest to empower talented students with access to IFS software, enhancing their current curriculum with state-of-the-art technology,” said Stephen Keys, Chief Talent and Sustainability Officer at IFS. “As part of our ESG strategy, we remain committed to giving back to the Sri Lankan community, and the ICT sector in particular. This partnership helps us contribute to capacity building and skills development throughout different academic levels.”

About University of Moratuwa
The University of Moratuwa has gained reputation as the overall best university in Sri Lanka today. In terms of education, the university strives to produce "world class graduates" in technological fields- who can gain admission easily to any postgraduate program of a reputed world class University and perform as good as any graduate from an internationally reputed University both in higher studies and practice. The overall goal of the UOM therefore, is to produce academically sound, self-confident flexible and highly employable, internationally recognized quality graduates who are readily employable soon after the graduation, and also to train our students to become "job creators" rather than "job seekers" when they graduate.
